Financing of Farmers Specialized Cooperatives A Case study of Wenshan County, Yunnan Province

Abstract： Farmers’ professional cooperatives play a key role in the development of Chinas agricultural economy, and its business development is inseparable from the support of funds. Although the state has introduced the relevant support policies to support the cooperatives, the financing problem is still restricting the expansion of the scale of cooperatives, so the study of the reasons for the financing of cooperatives has a certain practical significance. problems of farmer cooperatives from a macroscopic point of view, and the literatures from the microcosmic perspective are relatively few, and the microcosmic research tends to be more mature in the eastern cooperatives of our country, and there is less research in the southwest region. Based on this, this paper chooses the eight farmers specialized cooperatives in Yanshan County, Wenshan City, Yunnan Province as typical case to analyze the financing situation of cooperatives in view of the current research. Yunnan Province is located in the inland economy due to underdeveloped, cooperative development is still relatively backward, to study its financing situation has a certain practical significance. This paper obtains reliable data through questionnaires and key person interviews, and summarizes the funding needs of the two cooperatives, the actual financing situation and the factors that affect their financing. From the level of income of cooperatives, collateral assets, credit rating, the characteristics of the president, the relationship with the government, whether the regular reconciliation with banks, members of the cooperative awareness, cooperative business model summed up the reasons for the financing of cooperatives. Based on the survey results, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions for how farmers professional cooperatives can get rid of the financing difficulties.
